Isabelle Chenot

Isabelle Chenot is originally from the Loiret region, and Parmenon flutes have always been part of her musical landscape. At the age of 17, she was awarded the DEM (Diplôme d’études musicales), and her professors at the Orléans Conservatoire all played Parmenon flutes. During her studies, she also had the opportunity to do an internship at Parmenon, which allowed her to observe the making of this prestigious instrument and admire the exceptional craftsmanship of its artisans.
Isabelle Chenot studied with some of the leading ambassadors of the French flute school, including Arlette Biget, Philippe Pierlot, Vincent Lucas, Juliette Hurel, and Claude Lefèbvre. She began her higher education at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional of Rueil-Malmaison in the class of Philippe Pierlot. This program led her to the class of Sophie Deshayes at “Pôle Sup’ 93,” where she earned the DNSPM (National Higher Professional Musician’s Diploma), a bachelor’s degree in musicology with honors in 2015, and the DE (Diplôme d’État) in 2016.
Her time in Gionata Sgambaro’s class at the Ville d’Avray Conservatoire allowed her to join the prestigious class of Davide Formisano at the Musikhochschule in Stuttgart, Germany, where she received her Master’s degree in flute with highest honors and distinction. Isabelle’s path has since focused on orchestral life. She became a trainee flutist with the Göttingen Symphony Orchestra in 2017, then obtained a one-year contract as solo piccolo with the Sächsische Bläserphilharmonie. Following these experiences, she joined the Staatskapelle Halle as flutist and piccolo player, where she has held a permanent position since 2019. In February 2025, she will appear as a soloist there in Cimarosa’s Concerto for Two Flutes.
Isabelle Chenot also has a passion for historical flutes. In 2023, she was awarded a Master’s degree in traverso with distinction from the Leipzig Musikhochschule, studying under Anne Freitag. She is also a highly sought-after chamber musician and regularly performs in various ensembles, both on modern flute and traverso.
A true lover of music, Isabelle is also keyboardist and aerophonist in the rock band “T2O” of the Staatskapelle Halle. In addition, she occasionally sings and plays with the symbolist folk group “In Gowan Ring.”
Isabelle Chenot performs regularly in France and is deeply committed to promoting historic heritage sites. She has appeared at the “Apéros musique de Blesle,” in Malaucène, at the Jardin des Plantes in Paris, as well as during musical hikes, and she is a founding member of the association Les Amis de l’orgue de Bellegarde (45), which organizes regular concerts in cultural heritage landmarks.
