Sébastian JACOT

1st Principal flute at Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra

Born in Geneva, Sébastian Jacot studied at the Conservatoire Supérieur of Geneva in the class of M. Jacques Zoon and obtained his Masters degree as soloist and in teaching in 2010. Although he was only 18, he was appointed assistant first flute in the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, a post where he remained for two years. He then returned to Europe and played in orchestras such as the Mozart Orchestra under the direction of Claudio Abbado, the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, the Stockholm Radio Orchestra, the Berlin Konzerthaus, and the Chamber Orchestra of Munich.

Currently Principal flute of the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, he already hold this position at Ensemble Contrechamps in Geneva, Saito Kinen Festival Orchetsra in Japan, and at Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra.

Besides recitals and masterclasses, Sébastian is also an enthusiastic chamber music musician, and regularly takes part in international festivals on every continents.
